2007. All toll lanes are

who have a phobia of driving across the facility?

The Chesapeake Bay Bridge-Tunnel District
offers a driver's assistance program. The Police Department
arranges for an employee to drive a customer's personal vehicle
across the Bridge-Tunnel when a customer has a phobia of heights,
bridges, tunnels, etc. This service is provided to
pre-empt an unsafe customer incident from occurring due to
any phobia which may present itself when driving across the facility.
This service is offered to customers traveling
in either an automobile, van, SUV, or pickup truck at no additional cost
to the customer.
Customers must make arrangements in
advance for this service. The District utilizes personnel who have
other specific duties to perform; these drive-overs now occur at specific times each day - 6:30 a.m., 2:30 p.m. and 10:30 p.m. Delays for this service can be expected depending on
the day of the week, the calendar season and potential events occuring on the Chesapeake Bay Bridge-Tunnel.
