| Pumps and miscellaneous equipment
and materials are being installed in order to upgrade the existing pumps
within the portal island and mid-channel pump rooms of both Thimble Shoals
Tunnel and Chesapeake Channel Tunnel. The project was awarded to Wood
Equipment Company of Richmond, VA at a cost of $139,000. The pumps
were delivered on February 12, 2009. The installation portion of this project was awarded to REW Corporation of Portsmouth, VA in the amount of $299,431. Work on this installation has commenced and is approximately 93% complete. |
